Café Curieux is an homage to Indonesia’s timeless budaya ngopi—a ritual of presence that transcends generations. It finds its soul in the quiet corners of a local coffee sanctuary, where time slows down and thoughts begin to simmer. In Indonesia, ngopi is a sanctuary for shared conversation. This scent captures that uniquely Indonesian atmosphere: the deep, earthy warmth of Indonesian Arabica, the nostalgic scent of well-loved books or newspapers, and the aged texture of wooden chairs that have absorbed the stories of every guest who has ever sat to connect, think, or simply be. It is the scent of that warm, grounded feeling when we are refreshed and truly at home.

The inspiration for Café Curieux was born from a spontaneous moment of curiosity in Paris. While searching for a taste of home, I stumbled upon a charming, vintage café called Café Verlet. It was beautifully Parisian—filled with warm wood accents, leather-lined chairs, and large glass windows that made you wonder about the stories of the people inside. Sitting there, enjoying Indonesian coffee while watching people read, think, and write, I realized that perhaps true peace doesn't always look passive, it could be found in curiosity.
This beautiful connection between a calm mind and a wandering imagination is a ritual I see both in Paris and back home in Indonesia, where a cup of coffee and a good book are an invitation to explore new ideas. With Café Curieux, I wanted to create a scent that empowers you to step into that exact space: a state of calm that sparks your natural curiosity.
To translate this feeling, I chose an authentic Indonesian Coffee Oil Arabica, capturing the rich, stimulating aroma of a fresh brew to awaken the senses. To evoke the nostalgic scent of old books and paper—the ultimate symbols of exploration—I opened the composition with a vibrant burst of Pink Pepper CO2, blending it to create a unique accord. Finally, the vintage atmosphere is brought to life by the woody warmth of Indonesian Patchouli and a tactile touch of leather notes.
